Payment methods
UnionPay is an international payment card accepted in over 150 countries around the world. In Vietnam, affiliated banks issue UnionPay cards to customers.
Vietnam Airlines accepts payment via UnionPay for ticket and ancillary service purchases at the Vietnam Airlines website/app at all points of sales.
The pay-later method allows passengers to book seats in advance and pay later for the fares and additional services (except TripCARE Travel Insurance) without incurring a secure-my-fare fee. After successfully booking, the payment should be completed within the specified time frame.
For pay-later transactions of over VND 200,000,000, please pay at a bank counter, ATM, or convenience store.
Vietnam Airlines accepts the pay-later method for tickets and additional services (except TripCARE Travel Insurance) purchased on the Vietnam Airlines website/app at all points of sales (except for China and Hong Kong).
At points of sales in Japan

At points of sales in Vietnam and other points of sales
Payment period
For routes between Vietnam and China/Hong Kong/Taiwan/Singapore/Thailand/United Kingdom/India, routes between Vientiane and Phnom Penh (Techo International Airport):
- Book at least 14 days before departure: Payment should be made within 08 hours of booking.
- Book within 14 days before departure: Payment should be made within 01 hour of booking.
For other routes
- Book at least 24 hours before departure: Payment should be made within 08 hours of booking and at least 24 hours before departure. Except for flights operated by Vietnam Air Service, passengers are required to pay within 01 hour after booking.
- Book within 24 hours before departure: Payment should be made within 01 hour of booking.
Payment methods for on-hold reservation codes
- At points of sales in Vietnam
- Go to Manage Booking on the Vietnam Airlines’ website/mobile app and fill out the reservation code. In the Reservation code payment section, select Pay Now using the available payment methods, or opt for installment payment by credit card (applicable to transactions over VND 3,000,000).
- Enter the reservation code in the section for payment via an online banking service (Internet Banking) application;
- Pay in cash at ATMs of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam or the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam;
- Pay in cash at convenience stores or at the transaction counters of Sai Gon Joint Stock Commercial Bank, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, or Co-operative Bank of Vietnam.
- At other points of sales
Passengers go to Manage Booking n the Vietnam Airlines website/app and enter the reservation code. In the Reservation Code Payment section, select Pay Now, then choose an appropriate payment method to complete the transaction.
PayPal is one of the world's largest online payment gateways, serving as an electronic wallet that allows passengers to transfer money and make international payments.
Vietnam Airlines accepts payment via PayPal for tickets and additional services purchased on the Vietnam Airlines website/app at all points of sales except those in Vietnam, India, South Korea, and China.
The payment method is exclusive to Vietnam Airlines' Lotusmiles members. Members can combine cash and accumulated miles to pay for air tickets when making transactions on the website vietnamairlines.com; or when buying tickets at Vietnam Airlines’s agents or ticket counters.

Vietnam’s domestic payment methods
Payment using Alipay Wallet
Passengers having bank accounts opened in China can pay for air tickets via Alipay Wallet. When selecting this payment method, passengers will be redirected to the Alipay website or application to make the transaction.
Alipay is accepted for ticket and ancillary service purchases on the Vietnam Airlines website/app at all points of sales except those in Vietnam, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Russia, Denmark, and Norway.
Notes: The e-wallet option will not be displayed if passengers access the Vietnam Airlines website using a mobile phone to purchase tickets and additional services.
Payment using Wechat Pay
WeChat Pay is a payment function built into WeChat, a popular social network in China. Passengers can pay for tickets and additional services on Vietnam Airlines' website using WeChat Pay at all points of sales except those in Vietnam, India, Macau, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Russia, Denmark, Norway, and Switzerland.
Notes:The e-wallet option will not be displayed if passengers access the Vietnam Airlines website using a mobile phone to purchase tickets and additional services.
Payment at Konbini
Konbini is a major convenience store chain in Japan. Passengers can book air tickets on the website vietnamairlines.com, then secure the seats within 24 hours and pay via Konbini chains, including 7-Eleven, Lawson, Ministop, FamilyMart, and Seicomart.
Payment at Konbini is applicable to transactions under JPY 300,000. Where a passenger's transaction amount is greater than JPY 300,000, please select an alternative payment method available on the payment page during the ticket purchase process.
Vietnam Airlines only accepts payment at Konbini for ticket purchases on the Vietnam Airlines website with Japan points of sales.
KCP is a South Korean domestic card. Passengers pay for tickets and additional services purchased on the Vietnam Airlines website/app using KCP cards at South Korean points of sales.
Sofort Banking is a payment method by bank transfer. Passengers in some European countries can use this form to pay for tickets and additional services purchased on the Vietnam Airlines website with ticket points of sales in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Austria, and Switzerland.
