Payment methods

For purchasing tickets at Japanese location (country/region is Japan), passengers can be confident in choosing the most appropriate option among a variety of payment methods.

International payment card

Vietnam Airlines accepts payment by international credit or debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, UATP, and JCB. Cardholders can pay for themselves or others.

Payment for airline tickets is made via a secure payment gateway and Vietnam Airlines does not store any information from the payment card.

Vietnam Airlines is not responsible for any additional costs charged by the issuing bank as a result of using the card to purchase flight tickets on the Vietnam Airlines website/app. Please contact the card issuer for more details.

Notes: Vietnam Airlines does not accept virtual or single-use cards and retains the right to reject service if a customer uses such.

UnionPay card

UnionPay is an international payment card accepted in over 150 countries around the world. Affiliated banks will issue UnionPay cards to customers.

Alipay wallet

Passengers having bank accounts opened in China can pay for air tickets via Alipay Wallet. When selecting this payment method, passengers will be redirected to the Alipay website or application to make the transaction.

Notes: The e-wallet option will not be displayed if passengers access the Vietnam Airlines website using a mobile phone to purchase tickets and ancillary services.

Post payment

The post-pay payment method allows passengers to book seats in advance and pay later for the fares and ancillary services (except TripCARE Travel Insurance) without incurring a secure-my-fare fee. After successful booking, the payment for air tickets and ancillary services should be completed within the specified time frame.

Post payment at Konbini convenience stores

Passengers can pay later using the following instructions:

  • Step 1: Purchase tickets and ancillary services on the Vietnam Airlines website/app at Japanese location (country/region is Japan). On the payment screen, select a payment method via Konbibi 7-Eleven or Konbibi Convenience stores. Passengers will be redirected to the payment gateway partner Adyen's page.
  • Step 2: Enter your name, phone number, and email address that you provided when purchasing tickets. After pressing the "Confirm purchase" button, the passenger will receive an order code for the transaction.
  • Step 3: Within 24 hours of booking, provide the order code and phone number to pay for the ticket and ancillary services at the Konbini convenience stores you specified in Step 1.

Other forms of payment

Passengers can pay later using the following steps:

  • Step 1: Purchase tickets and ancillary services on the Vietnam Airlines website/app at Japanese location (country/region is Japan). On the payment screen, select "Pay Later";
  • Step 2: Go to Manage Booking on the Vietnam Airlines’ website/mobile app;
  • Step 3: Enter the reservation code and last name, and then click "Search";
  • Step 4: In the “Payment for reservation code” section, select “Pay now”. Then, passengers can select the appropriate payment method.

Payment using WeChat Pay

WeChat Pay is a payment function built into WeChat, a popular social network in China. Passengers can use WeChat Pay to pay for air tickets and ancillary services at Japanese location (payment in JPY). 

Payment using PayPal

PayPal is one of the world's largest online payment gateways, serving as an electronic wallet that allows passengers to transfer money and make international payments.

Payment using Cash & Miles

The payment method is exclusive to Vietnam Airlines' Lotusmiles members. Members can combine cash and accumulated miles to pay for air tickets when making transactions on the vietnamairlines.com website; or when buying tickets at Vietnam Airlines’s agents or ticket counters.
