Frankfurt - The city of freedom

Lying nestled along the banks of the beautiful Main River, Frankfurt has not only the serene atmosphere of typical European cities, but also a vibrant lifestyle with skyscrapers.
The history of Frankfurt is told by the beauty of its museums and architectural works recalling ancient West Germany; adorned with the modernism of the city itself. The scenery

1. Botanical Garden (Palmengarten): This is one of the 3 largest botanical gardens in Frankfurt, which is 147 years old now. Rose garden, cactus garden, and greenhouse growing plants from the sub- Antarctic are the features of this 22-hectare garden. The garden is open in Summer only. During the summer daytime, when Frankfurt’s weather is sunny and warm, visitors can go to Palmengarten to have lunch with some glasses of high-grade cider from Frankfurt. In addition, some outdoor activities, such as boating, golfing…, are regularly organized here.  Especially, Palmengarten has a safe playground for children to play and entertain.

2. Frankfurt Cathedral (Frankfurt Cathedral): Frankfurt Cathedral was built during the 1400s to serve for the Roman Emperor’s accession to the throne. It can be said that this is the most palatial and  magnificent church in Frankfurt. This prominent architectural work of the Western German city was built in Gothic style, stands out with its distinctive red color.The interior walls of the church are decorated with pillars tiles and amazing frescoes. Entering the Frankfurt Cathedral, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in unique designs of Frankfurt adopted from the Middle Ages architecture.

Cuisine

Frankfurt has a unique food culture with dishes that you will not ever find anywhere else. They are Sauerkraut - pork legs served with pickled cabbage, Grüne Soße - a delicious and nutritious herbal soup, and Frankfurter Kranz, a classic cake. The most famous Frankfurt dish among tourists is sausages Frankfurters, made with pure pork in a casing of sheep’s intestine. The taste is acquired by a method of low- temperature smoking. They are best served with bread, mustard, horseradish or potato salad.
Don't miss the traditional cheese dish with a long name "Handkäse mit Musik" when traveling to Frankfurt. The main ingredient of this cheese is yogurt which creates a fragrant, mellow, and sour taste. What’s special about the cheese is that it does not have a specific shape; depending on the dish, it will be hand molded into round or square blocks. On top of the cheese is chopped onion, sprinkled with a little more salt and pepper. Normally, Handkäse mit Musik is served as an appetizer in Frankfurt people’s everyday meal.

An indispensable activity when traveling to Frankfurt is taking a stroll in the old town of Römerberg - the heart of Frankfurt, a film depicting the beauty of Frankfurt in the 15th century.
You can take a walk to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the bustling markets, especially the Christmas markets that promise numerous interesting activities. And above all people can find famous flavorsome wines of Frankfurt there.
In addition to the old town of Römerberg, the milestones of Frankfurt are kept in museums. One of them is the Städel Museum with its invaluable paintings and works from the 14th century by Picasso, Monet, Degas... Besides Städel, Frankfurt also boasts a lot of beautiful and exhilarating museums such as the Senckenberg museum - one of the most modern museums of natural history in Europe; the German Film Museum - a favorite destination of film enthusiasts and the Goethe Museum - a place to pay tribute to the great writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Transportation

Travelers have many options when it comes to making flights from Vietnam to Frankfurt. Flights from Noi Bai (Hanoi) or Tan San Nhat (Ho Chi Minh) will land at Frankfurt Am Main Airport (Germany) - one of the largest airports in Europe, being approximately 14km from the city center. From Frankfurt airport to the city center, visitors can choose the following means of transport:

Bus: Bus routes 61, 77, 72, 58, 62 (day bus), N81 and N7 (night bus) move directly to the city center. The fare for a trip is from 5 to 30 Euros with a duration of about 30 minutes.

Metro: Two electric trains to the city center are S8 and S9 with the fare for adults is 4.65 Euro, the fare for children is 2.8 Euro/way and the travel time is about 40 minutes...

Taxi: The cost of a trip is 80-100 Euro with a travel time of 30 minutes.

Train: The fare for one trip is 40 Euros/way, the travel time is about 20 minutes. Train tickets can be purchased at the service counters or automatic ticketing counters in lobby B of Terminal 1.
