To have a seamless journey, in addition to air and service tickets, passengers remember to bring all necessary documents. The following is a list of documents that must be prepared before going from Vietnam to an international destination.

Air tickets

To check in at an airport, a passenger must have a valid air ticket. Air tickets can be in hard copy or electronic form. Passengers who use electronic tickets must show the tickets provided to them via email or stored in the iPhone's Wallet application.

To make the entry process easier, passengers should bring a round-trip ticket or a connecting ticket to a third country.

Travel documents

On international flights, Vietnam Airlines requires the following identification documents to be original, legitimate, and with photos. In the case of using birth certificates and birth documents, the documents must be the originals or notarized copies according to legal regulations.

  • The passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the expected departure date;
  • Travel pass or loose-leaf visa;
  • Citizen identity card (if Vietnam and the relevant country sign a treaty or international agreement allowing citizens of the signatory countries to use Citizen ID cards instead of passports in each other's territory);
  • Types of cards, such as permanent residence cards and temporary residence cards;
  • Other documentation of entry and exit value as prescribed by law;
  • When infants do not have a passport, their full names, date of birth, and stamped portrait picture should be in the travel document of the legitimate representative, including: Biological father, biological mother, foster father, foster mother, or guardian.

Entry declaration form

Depending on the country or region, there will be specific requirements for entry declarations for foreign visitors. Normally, the entry declaration form is sent to the passenger on the plane or at the arrival airport. Currently, some countries require passengers to complete an electronic declaration approximately 3 to 6 days before departure.

To make the check-in process easier, passengers should familiarize themselves with the destination country's entry declaration form before departing.
