From Vietnam to India

Before departure, passengers need to fully prepare the necessary documents required for flying from Vietnam to international destinations, such as air tickets, valid passports, and forms of identification. In addition, passengers flying from Vietnam to India should be aware of the following document requirements.


Passport

Passengers entering India must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry and contains 03 blank pages.


Visa

Indian transit visa

Passengers do not need an Indian transit visa if they meet the following requirements:

  • The transit period is less than 24 hours, as defined by the arrival and departure schedule;
  • The third-country flight ticket has been confirmed;
  • Travel in the Transit Area (without passing through border control).

For the remaining cases, passengers must apply for a transit visa. The transit visa is valid for a maximum stay of three days in India. This visa will be valid for a single or a maximum of two entries within 15 days of issuing. Please be aware that passengers must have a confirmed onward airline ticket as well as a valid visa for their final destination.

Indian entry visa

Passengers from Vietnam require a valid visa to enter India. Passengers can apply for either a regular visa or an e-visa.

Entry declaration form

The entry form will be distributed and filled out during the flight or at the arrival airport.


Quarantine regulations

International visitors to India will no longer have to declare their health or COVID-19 vaccination status from July 20, 2023.


Cash regulations

According to regulations, if you enter India with cash worth USD 55,000 or more, you must disclose it to customs.


Pet regulations

Passengers entering India for tourism can bring up to two pets (dogs or cats) per passenger. Before entering India, passengers and pets must have resided in their country of departure for two years. Passengers have to show a health certificate issued by the quarantine authorities in the country of departure.

India only accepts passengers with pets in airports that have animal quarantine facilities, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. For more details, passengers should visit Pet Import and Export.


Regulations on food, meat, and plants

Passengers planning to bring seeds/plants/fruits/flowers into India should consult Annexes V, VI, and VII of the Plant Quarantine (Import into India Regulations) Order, 2003 for more information on plants eligible for import into India. Passengers must guarantee that the plants are legal and accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate provided by the competent authorities in the country of origin.
