From Vietnam to Hong Kong

Before departure, passengers need to fully prepare the necessary documents required for flying from Vietnam to international destinations, such as air tickets, valid passports, and forms of identification. In addition, passengers flying from Vietnam to Hong Kong should be aware of the following document requirements.


Visa

Citizens of about 170 nations and territories may visit Hong Kong without visas or entrance permits for periods ranging from 7 to 180 days. Passengers who do not have nationality in one of the above 170 countries must get a visa to enter Hong Kong in compliance with the requirements. Vietnamese citizens holding diplomatic and official passports can enter Hong Kong without a visa for stays of up to 14 days. Passengers who do not fall into one of these categories must get a valid visa.

Entry declaration form

Passengers arriving in Hong Kong are required to complete an arrival card, which will be provided to them on the flight or at the arrival terminal.


Quarantine regulations

Passengers from Vietnam entering Hong Kong do not need to declare their health or vaccination status. This information is subject to change based on the actual situation; passengers should visit the Hong Kong Government website for the latest updates.


Cash regulations

According to regulations, if you enter Hong Kong with cash worth HKD 120,000 or more, you must disclose it to customs.

Regulations on food, meat, and plants

Food, meat

Passengers carrying food items such as fruits, vegetables, fully cooked meat, and seafood (including furry crab) for personal consumption in personal baggage in reasonable quantities are usually not controlled. However, to ensure food safety and public health, the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance controls the import of certain foods: Fresh and frozen poultry meat, eggs, milk and dairy drinks, etc.

  • Frozen confectionery
  • Food with pigment supplements
  • Food containing metal
  • Food containing artificial sweeteners

  • Food containing preservatives or antioxidants

Plants

It is illegal to import plants, plant pests, or soil into Hong Kong without a valid permit/authorization from the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Conservation Department.
