From Vietnam to Japan

Before departure, passengers need to fully prepare the necessary documents required for flying from Vietnam to international destinations, such as air tickets, valid passports, and forms of identification. In addition, passengers flying from Vietnam to Japan should be aware of the following document requirements.


Accommodation information

Passengers should have information on their accommodations (hotel/motel name, address, reservation confirmation, etc.) or a thorough itinerary ready for swift immigration processes when they arrive in Japan. Passengers are advised to save the information to their mobile devices or print it out.


Visa

Japan offers entry visa exemption to citizens from 71 countries. If the passengers are not on the above list, they must obtain visas in accordance with the regulations.

Entry declaration form

There are two ways to declare entry to Japan:

The arrival card is a necessary procedure while entering Japan. Passengers can declare at the airport or refer to the arrival card in Vietnamese for more details.

The Visit Japan QR Code is an online declaration form that is recommended for time savings. Passengers can create an account and do this before the flight. Upon arrival in Japan, passengers just simply present the QR code saved on their phone or a printout at the quarantine, immigration, and customs checkpoints.

Passengers can go to Visit Japan Web and follow the steps below:

Step 1. Create an account and sign in.

Step 2. Register user information.

Step 3. Register your travel itinerary.

Step 4. Register the required information.

Step 5. Get the QR code and present it upon entry.


Quarantine regulations

Japan will no longer require vaccination proof from April 29, 2023. Accordingly, passengers traveling in Japan are not required to take a Covid-19 test or provide proof of immunization.


Cash regulations

According to regulations, if you enter Japan with cash worth JPY 1,000,000 or more, you must disclose it to customs.
