Before departure, passengers need to fully prepare the necessary documents required for flying from Vietnam to international destinations, such as air tickets, valid passports, and forms of identification. In addition, passengers flying from Vietnam to France should be aware of the following document requirements.
A passenger passport is considered valid if it was issued during the last ten years and is valid for at least three months after the scheduled date of departure from France.
Passengers are required to present proof of accommodation for their whole stay in France, such as a hotel reservation or a certificate of accommodation with a relative certified by the town authorities.
Foreign nationals wishing to enter France must have valid visas. Vietnamese citizens seeking French visas may visit the website Apply for French Visas in Vietnam for further details. Passengers can access the France-Visas support system to determine the appropriate visa type.
If the stay is less than 90 days, passengers have to obtain a short-term visa, known as a "Schengen VISA" to enter France for tourist, short-term business, or visiting relatives. Passengers can visit General Information on Short-term Visas for more details.
If the stay is longer than 90 days, passengers need a long-term visa.
Passengers staying in France for fewer than five days must apply for a transit visa. The passenger must present evidence that satisfies the entry requirements at the third destination. If passengers do not leave the airport transit area, they do not need to apply for transit visas, except for special cases.
France offers visa-free entry to citizens of EU member states, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland.
The entry declaration form is sent to the passenger on the aircraft or at the arrival airport.
Passengers have to provide proof of adequate financing for their stay in France and present it to customs.
As per the regulations, the financial amount for each day of stay in France is generally determined by the passenger's place of residence:
Passengers entering the Schengen area must obtain a certificate of insurance covering any medical and hospital expenses that may be incurred while in France. The minimum insurance required is EUR 30,000. Passengers can visit Travel Insurance for more details.
International visitors to France would no longer have to declare their health or Covid-19 vaccination status from August 1, 2022.
According to regulations, passengers can bring up to USD 10,000 in cash into France without declaring it. Passengers carrying more than the above amount of cash must declare it to customs upon entry.
Pets brought from countries outside the European Union must be declared and presented to customs for documentation and identity checks before entering the EU area. According to veterinary regulations, only the following animals accompanying travelers are considered pets:
Passengers can visit Traveling with Pets to France for more details and prepare all necessary documents before entering the country.
